What Ground Protection Equipment does Shore Hire offer?
- Trak Mats: Trak Mats can provide access and traction for vehicles, machinery, and pedestrians over sand, mud, or marshy soils, and protect turfed areas for events and/or functions. They create a temporary roadway for rubber-tyred or rubber-tracked vehicles up to 60 tonnes in weight.
Trak Mats are rugged, durable, and flexible, manufactured from high density polyethylene, with a unique non-slip traction surface to avoid tyre slippage. They are easy to carry with hand cutouts, and will not rot or absorb water. The grip surface profile dispels mud while vehicles traverse, while still giving non-skid traction.
- Maxi Tracks: Maxi Tracks are the world’s first man-handleable mat for ultra-heavy-duty ground protection applications. They are designed for heavy-wheeled and rubber-tracked vehicles and equipment, and can take up to 130 tonnes in uniformly distributed loads.
Overlapping flanged joints and locking edges allow heat expansion while suppressing mud seepage. Weighing just 40kg, two people can position the mats in place, and a team of four, plus a forklift with a driver, can install approximately 60 mats in an hour.
- Trench Covers: Trench Covers are versatile units that can be used to cover excavations up to 1.2 metres wide for pedestrians or 0.9 metres wide for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. They currently come in two sizes, and can be easily installed, transported, and stored.
The yellow hi-vis and anti-trip design creates a safe passageway for pedestrians, wheelchairs, and vehicles, and the flexi-edge technology around its edges reduces the risk of Trench Covers slipping on a job site.
- Steel Road Plates: Steel Road Plates are heavy-duty steel coverings that provide safe, temporary access over excavations and access for temporary works for vehicles and pedestrians. They can be placed on roads during excavations, maintenance work, and other types of construction work to minimise disruptions to traffic or create temporary driveable sections, as well as placed on or over a number of hazards on construction sites, such as trenches, or uneven or dangerous pathways, to create safe pathways for pedestrians.
The majority of our Steel Road Plates have an anti-slip coating to make them fully non-slip to enhance their grip and function, reducing the chance of vehicles or pedestrians slipping, especially in wet weather.
